What Color is Your Parachute for Teens
Book Review by Rick Tobin
Seldom have I found a book that immediately grabs my attention and thrills me. I speak as an avid reader, book author and publisher. Carol Christen created one of the finest guides for success any young person and their family could own. Her design and thought process in developing What Color is Your Parachute for Teens is superb as it guides a teen through the agony of deciding, “Which way do I go now?” I wished I had owned this book when I was in high school. The counselor at our school tried, but he was, to be kind, inadequate. What wonders he might have achieved with the guidance in Carol’s directions.
What Color is Your Parachute for Teens should not only be in every home with teens, it should be in every school library…if not a course in every high school. Having taught at the high school and university level, I dare to say it would be valuable to have this as a course not just for high school seniors, but for freshmen in college. Perhaps if this tremendous tool had been in more hands there would not be a tribe of forty-year-olds now living in their parent’s basements, wondering why the choices they made for careers did not work.
What Color is Your Parachute for Teens is an easy read, with quality guidance to take the reader carefully through the consideration process. Do not wait. Time is of the essence for your teen…or your own career. This is the tool that would have answered the question my generation has always asked, “Why didn’t they give me a book about life when I was in high school?” Book Review by Rick Tobin
