Sleep Ponies
by Gudrun Ongman Good Reads Review "A fanciful foray into the imagination of a child can be found in the delightfully written and dazzlingly illustrated new children's book, The Sleep Ponies. Author/illustrator Gudrun Ongman, a professional sculptor and painter, has transformed her mother's bedtime tale into a lyrical myth about magic ponies that carry children away to golden fields of dreams. The sweet story, the evocative, description prose, and the warm, soft watercolors all combine to captivate both parent and child as they journey together to the land of The Sleep Ponies." Sleep Ponies is a Great Bedtime Story for Any Young Child
"This book may not solve the problem, but it should be able to help them concentrate enough to go to sleep peacefully. This picture book is about a little girl who lives a beautiful dream. When she closes her eyes and concentrates enough, then her sleep pony, "Whinny" comes to carry her away on a sweet adventure with several other horses. The beautiful pastel watercolor drawings (painted by the author) add to the serenity of this story. This book would be especially helpful for a child who was having problems going to sleep, because part of the story is that the girl can only see the ponies when she is perfectly still with her eyes closed. Whenever she opens here eyes, the ponies disappear. The peaceful book is well written, and would make a great bedtime story for any young child"~ Nicole Peterson Children's Literature Review - Barnes & Nobel
