Leadership and Safety Series

The goal is to provide every principal and assistant principal access to a information that inspires leadership in the Leadership and Safety Series and/or suggestions about the Authors' eBooks featured in the Safe to Learn Store.  Each Leadership and Safety Series eBook is designed so that information can easily be shared with members of each school's crisis response team, teachers, staff and/or students. The 2016 edition of Leadership and Safety Series will be available as a package for each school’s principal and assistant principal at a discounted rate by December 2015.  Each of the Safe to Learn Author's eBooks is dedicated to school safety; protecting our children; and supports schools safety plans.  Safe to Learn will also continue be feature a selection of eBooks written by educators that will inspire a sense of adventure and discovery.

Step 3:

SafetyTeams
The fourth step is to ask each principal to share some ideas and lessons learned with their staff and also members of their School Crisis Teams (SCT)/School Incident Response Teams(SIRT), teachers and students.
Step 5:
Submit Your  Ideas for eBooks and Updates for Safety Guides

Each year the Safe to Learn Team will be working together to up-to-date versions of the Leadership and Safety Series.  The fourth step includes annual updates and eBooks; creating the second year series; and the development of additional eBooks. We ask you to submit your ideas to improve the Leadership and Safety Series or  let our team know topics you would like to read about for additional Authors eBooks.

Step 6:
Practice , Practice and Practice

The most important step to remember is Step 6. Make the time to practice leadership, safety and participate in discussion and school drills each month.  Also remind yourself and your staff  that it takes practice to learn any skill and even more practice if the skill requires team coordination and cooperation.  Ada Rosario Dolch reminds us that, "Our goal is to always remain a community of caring people with the same mission: Providing what is best for all children and keeping them safe so they will be able to learn."
