Be Prepared and Be a Leader
By Doug Wadill

Ada Rosario Doch’s book was very eye opening, and it does remind us of the importance of being prepared. She highlighted the power of leadership in creating a plan and sticking to it. I appreciated her clear heart for the students’ safety and keeping that in the forefront of her mind. She was able to devise a plan, strategy, and implementation to keep them accounted for and safe.
She seems to want to continue to make the security plan even stronger. I was reminded the importance of practicing as well as preparing for what we do not know.
Huggins will continue to practice and discuss different strategies and scenarios. The more we discuss and practice, the better we will be if it is ever put to the test. Communication is key on all aspects. From planning to the actual delivery of the emergency plan, communication must be effectively used.
