Observations - Leadership is Setting an Example Worth Following
By Karl Carlton

- We need to set aside time in our weekly administrative meeting every Monday morning to discuss safety, procedures, plans, etc.
- Above all, keep kids safe, even if this means you might have to deviate from the plan.
It is “a” plan, not “the” plan, and an effective leader will know when to make that decision. - We are each other’s thought partner. My personal thought partner is my secretary.
- Be proactive and remain composed in an emergency situation so I can choose “fight” and not “flight” if that is what is called for.
- “Leadership means setting an example worth following.”
- Geese in flight, different leaders, different responsibilities, all prepared.
- Pre-plan to the nth degree.
- Cell phone plans should be addressed. Everyone has them and could cause more harm and danger.
