Safe to Learn is Working to Help Vickee Greer's Dream Come True
Helping to Break the Link between Animal Abuse and Child Abuse

Vickee Greer devoted her life to helping to protect, educate and inspire others. She stressed the importance of life-long learning and was a living example that education is important at any age. She lost her battle with cancer on February 12, 2007 but was able to see fulfillment of one of her life-long dreams when she received her Master’s Degree in 2007.
Jessika Savage's senior thesis project at Cornish College of the Arts featured Jessika’s original design concepts developed for The Greer Foundation, as well as her original project she created to support violence prevention. With the encouragement of Vickee's husband, Jim Greer, Jessika Savage, Denise Langston and Dee Beaugez have been working together to fulfill part of Vickee Greer's dream of providing tools for schools to help teachers encourage students express their feelings, as well as learn to be kind to animals. Jim Greer lost his battle with cancer in June 2015.
Vickee combined her love and devotion for abused animals and children of violence to become a dynamic leader in violence prevention. The suffering of the innocents of society caused at the hands of someone else broke her heart. To improve the lives of those who endured the suffering inflicted by others she wrote, presented and educated our children, educators and communities. Her dedication to the animals and children of America and her allegiance to emergency preparedness were unparalleled.
Vickee Greer was an unsung hero who dedicated her life to breaking the link between animal abuse and child abuse. Listen, you can still hear her saying, “Praise a child, make his day; pet an animal and make him feel kindness; and allow peace to be part of your life – today and always.”
