Jorge Martinez was born in a little town in Mexico in 1986. His interest in photography and video began when he was a child. One day he stumbled across a Video 8 camcorder in his uncle’s garage. From that day forward, every time he had an opportunity to capture family moments, he was there record the events . At age 13, he received his first camera as a Christmas gift. It was a Kodak ektralite 10 flash 110 film pocket camera, which was his faithful companion for many years to come. After some time of self-learning photography, he enrolled in the Universidad del Valle de Orizaba (UNIVO) to pursue a degree in Marketing. He still continued to develop his interest in photography along with learning about helping grow different businesses and contribute somehow in the economic growth of his town. At the Universidad del Valle de Orizaba (UNIVO) he then attended various courses where he learned about: digital theory, composition in photography, artificial lighting, etcetera. Eventually, he had the opportunity to immigrate to United States where he started a family and now is the proud father of two wonderful children. They are the center of his attention, and that’s how he began to polish his skills in taking portraits. Link to Jorge Martinez's Photography Professionally, he has had the opportunity to be the assistant of a well know photographer during a Bat Mitzvah (an important Jewish celebration). He also has professionally done food photography for the Flying Apron Bakery and Café (Redmond Location). His work was featured in the Redmond Reporter, a local newspaper for the City. He also has worked for Agave Cocina and Cantina during tequila testing events.
His work is also used in social media (Facebook) for advertisements. In this same restaurant, he has captures pictures of food and beverages that have been included in the menu and on the website of this popular restaurant located in the heart of Redmond. Jorge Martinez goal is to continue to further his photography education in the near future, and he plans to attend the Seattle Central Creative Academy to earn a degree in a commercial photography program. |
